DEXA Scan
A DEXA scanner is an imaging machine that measures bone strength, as well as body composition - body fat and muscle mass. This test is important to the process as rapid weight loss can negatively impact muscle mass and bone strength. Adding in a tailored strength training program with sufficient protein can help curb these losses. Seeing body fat percentage drop over time is the motivation to stay the course. The Dexa scanner is for Body Balance Program members, as well as individual clients.

Styku is a 360 degree body composition scan that takes precise measurements of body fat percentage and muscle mass. It’s advanced software works with the DEXA scan to create an accurate model of the body and uses data to set fat-loss goals.

Resting Metabolic Rate (RMR) Testing (coming soon)
Metabolism, by definition, is the sum of the energy required for a living organism to maintain life. Food is converted to energy to carry out functions such as breathing, heartbeat, thinking and growing. An RMR test measures the amount of energy, as calories, your body uses when at rest. It also measures your respiratory quotient (RQ), which shows the percentage of your metabolism you burn in terms of carbohydrates vs. fats. These values are then used to calculate an ideal caloric intake for your body and develop a supporting exercise plan. RMR testing is for Body Balance Program members, as well as individual clients.

VO2 Max Testing (coming soon)
VO2 max testing, or maximal oxygen consumption testing, is a method to determine the maximum amount of oxygen an individual can utilize during intense exercise. This test is crucial for assessing cardiovascular fitness and aerobic endurance, as it directly measures the volume and gas concentrations of inspired and expired air while exercising on a treadmill or bike at increasing intensities until exhaustion. A higher VO2 max indicates a more conditioned aerobic system and better cardiovascular health, making it essential for athletes and fitness enthusiasts to gauge their fitness levels accurately VO2 Max testing is for Body Balance Program members, as well as individual clients.
